It contains various adventure and ropes courses designed to promote the development of social-emotional skills like self-esteem, self-respect, respect for others, healthy risk-taking, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Summer Positions

Summer STEM Instructor - June 17th - August 10th - This position is now filled.

If you are looking for a change-making, equity-focused, youth-development opportunity and you have a passion for STEM, environmental education, and the outdoors, then Princeton-Blairstown Center is looking for you! This summer, join a diverse and dynamic team of individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students from historically marginalized communities in the NYC area, working on PBC’s 268-acre campus at our award-winning Summer Bridge Program. Summer fun will be the primary goal of STEM Instructors, who focus on addressing "summer learning gap" in innovative ways that help youth develop and integrate their academic and social and emotional well-being, along with enhancing their environmental awareness and stewardship.  Our STEM Instructors work each week with small cohorts of 10-12 middle and early high school youth in an outdoor classroom near the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. developing and delivering powerful lessons that will shape the next generation of environmental stewardship.

 Salary $4,800 for the season ($600 per week) plus room (staff do not sleep in cabins with young people), board and training (valued at approximately $400/week).

 You must arrive on Sunday, June 16th as training starts promptly on Monday, June 17th. Check out date at the end of the program is Sunday, August 11th.

Salary $4,800 for the season ($600 per week) plus room (staff do not sleep in cabins with young people), board, and training (valued at approximately $400/week). Returning staff receive an extra $50 a week.

  • 120 hours (15 days) of PTO during the first three years of employment, 144 hours (18 days) during years four and five, and 168 hours (21 days) each year after, plus 12 paid holidays and 1 Heritage Day off.

Professional Development & Growth Opportunities

We recognize the importance of professional development for staff, our organization, and the nonprofit sector as a whole. To support this, we provide:

  • Performance evaluations including after the first 90 days and annually thereafter.

  • Two weeks of job specific training to help staff complete the tasks and goals specific to the job.

  • Regular in-service training to advance relevant professional skills.

  • $1,000 annual professional development budget to cover costs associated with attending conferences, accessing online or in person courses, obtaining certifications (WFR, Lifeguard, ACCT), purchasing books or other materials, serving on affinity Boards or committees, or presenting at conferences and events.
